If you want an iPhone in an entirely new shade, Purple, Blue, and Pacific Blue are the newest colors available. Likewise, if you have a Silver stainless steel Apple Watch, it will match the Silver iPhone 12 Pro. For example, if you already have a Space Gray MacBook Pro, it will be best accompanied by the Graphite iPhone 12 Pro. If you do not use a case, you may wish to take advantage of a more eye-catching color option.Ĭustomers with multiple Apple devices may also want to get an iPhone color that compliments their other devices. It may be the case that you prefer more neutral tones such as Black or White on the iPhone 12, or Graphite or Silver on the iPhone 12 Pro, and then use a more colorful case. If you use your iPhone with a case, you may wish to consider which color will best complement your case. Pacific Blue replaces 2019's Midnight Green on the iPhone 11 Pro, and there is no longer a green Pro model available. Moreover, the new Graphite color, in reality, appears to be very similar to Space Gray from previous generations. The Silver iPhone 12's rear is in fact white. It is worth noting that the iPhone 12 Pro's Silver color only refers to the edges of the device. In contrast to the iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 mini, Apple selected a more subdued and mature color palette for the iPhone 12 Pro models. The iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max are available in four colors. In April 2021, Apple added a brand new Purple iPhone 12 color option to the lineup, matching the new Purple iMac. White, on the other hand, is largely analogous to the iPhone 12 Pro's Silver, except with less prominent matte aluminum edges. The Black iPhone 12 should not be confused with Space Gray or Apple's new Graphite color. Apple selected a bolder, brighter color palette for the iPhone 12 lineup. The iPhone 12 mini and iPhone 12 are available in six colors. The 12 and 12 Pro have different color choices, so if you have your heart set on a particular shade, you might not be able to get your preferred model in that color. The Green colour was a bit of a departure of the understated colours of the iPhone X and iPhone X of previous years so many may be sad to see it go, even if dark blue fans are quids in.The iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro arrived in October 2020 in a range of color options, with entirely new hues available on both devices, as well as some popular classics. Ahead of the launch, it seemed like the new dark blue may only come to the Pro line-up – replacing the Green of last year – however, it is available on the regular model too. Like iPhone 12, the new colour addition to the Pro line-up is the Blue variant. IPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max are available in some less adventurous colours but stylish nonetheless – these variations being Gold, Silver, Graphite and Blue. IPhone 12 and iPhone 12 mini are available to buy in Black, White, Product Red, Green and Blue – the same as last year with one exception. The proof of that training is evident in a Mingo Fishtrap live performance. “But it is a great place to go through basic training." If you look the least bit uncomfortable on stage, throw some salt on yourself, you’re about to be eaten,” Blevins said. "It’s a small town with thousands of musicians and artists. This abundance of musicianship makes for a competitive environment. The college provides Denton with a steady stream of talent giving the city the reputation as a music hotbed, launching the likes of Tripping Daisy, Brave Combo and Deep Blue Something. What it can do is teach you how to make a good song better." "But, it can’t teach you how to write a good song that people want to hear. It also gives you a larger palette of options in terms of the colors you can use effectively," Blevins said. It makes it easier to communicate with one another. "The great thing about that kind of education is that it gives you a common language. Blevins, himself an anachronism, a 26-year-old sporting a '20s-style newsboy cap, long sideburns and just a smudge of a goatee on his chin, speaks insightfully regarding the value of his education. The original lineup met in 1992 as students at the University of North Texas College of Music. The Louisiana flair comes form Blevins' father, Roger Sr., who spent time playing bass in bands around Baton Rouge and New Orleans and who has been a member of the current lineup of Mingo Fishtrap for seven months. I would describe it as deep-fried soul with '60s and '70s funk influences and a New Orleans twist," Blevins said. Mingo Fishtrap’s sound is schizophrenically described by fans and critics as soul, jazz, funk, blues and rock, among other things. I finally came upon this intersection and thought 'what an unusual combination of establishments out here in the middle of nowhere.' The name stuck with me and that’s what I decided to call the band."Ī nine-member ensemble with a horn section, keyboardist and Latin percussionist is certainly an unusual combination in a music scene known for the standard guitar/bass/drums format. "The directions I got said this junkyard was on Mingo-Fishtrap road, so I drove around on this doughnut of a tire all through the country, trying to find the place. "I had a blowout and needed to replace the tire and remove the spare," said Blevins, leader and guitarist of the Denton-based group, Mingo Fishtrap. It is here that Roger Blevins found a new tire, a slice of Americana and the inspiration to name his band. In North Texas, just east of Denton, Mingo road meets Fishtrap road at an intersection with a farm, a junkyard and a beauty salon. "Spotlight – Texas talent you should know about" May not be valid in combination with other offers.
Apple CEO Steve Jobs set an exacting standard for the device's physical design one anecdote relates an occasion on which Jobs dropped a prototype into an aquarium in front of engineers to demonstrate from bubbles leaving its housing that the current design contained unused internal space. The original iPod's physical appearance was inspired by the 1958 Braun T3 transistor radio designed by Dieter Rams, while the wheel-based user interface drew on Bang & Olufsen's BeoCom 6000 telephone. The power supply was then designed by Michael Dhuey, while the display was designed in-house by Apple design engineer Jonathan Ive. Within eight months, Tony Fadell's team and PortalPlayer had completed a prototype. Fadell partnered with a company called PortalPlayer to design software for the device this work eventually took shape as the iPod OS. Time constraints forced Fadell to develop various components of the iPod outside Apple. Because most of Apple's engineering manpower and resources were already dedicated to the iMac line, Fadell hired engineers from his startup company, Fuse, and veteran engineers from General Magic and Philips to build the core iPod development team. įadell found support for his project with Apple Computer and was hired by Apple in 2001 as an independent contractor to work on the iPod project, then code-named project P-68. Rubinstein had also already made substantial progress on development of other key hardware elements, including the device's screen and battery. Rubinstein had already discovered the Toshiba hard disk drive while meeting with an Apple supplier in Japan, ultimately purchasing the rights to it for Apple. Fadell had previously developed the Philips Velo and Nino PDA before starting a company called Fuse Systems to build the new MP3 player, but RealNetworks, Sony and Philips had already passed on the project. Īt Apple CEO Steve Jobs’ direction, hardware engineering chief Jon Rubinstein recruited Tony Fadell, a former employee of General Magic and Philips, who had a business idea to invent a better MP3 player and build a complementary music sales store. To address these deficits, the company decided to develop its own MP3 player. They also identified weaknesses in existing models' attempt to negotiate the trade-off between capacity and portability flash memory-based players held too few songs, while the hard drive based models were too big and heavy. Portable MP3 players had existed since the mid-1990s, but Apple found existing digital music players "big and clunky or small and useless" with user interfaces that were "unbelievably awful". From left to right: iPod 5th generation in a case, iPod 4th generation, iPod Mini, iPod Nano, iPod Shuffle During the middle of 2010, iPhone sales overtook those of the iPod. While the iPhone and iPad have essentially the same media player capabilities as the iPod line, they are generally treated as separate products. As of iOS 5, separate Music and Videos apps are standardized across all iOS-powered products. īefore the release of iOS 5, the iPod branding was used for the media player included with the iPhone and iPad, which was separated into apps named "Music" and "Videos" on the iPod Touch. Prior to macOS 10.15, Apple's iTunes software (and other alternative software) could be used to transfer music, photos, videos, games, contact information, e-mail settings, Web bookmarks, and calendars to the devices supporting these features from computers using certain versions of Apple macOS and Microsoft Windows operating systems. Some versions of the iPod can serve as external data storage devices, like other digital music players. At over 20 years, the iPod brand is the oldest to be discontinued by Apple. Apple discontinued the iPod product line on May 10, 2022. Apple sold an estimated 450 million iPod products as of 2022. The first version was released on October 23, 2001, about 8 + 1⁄ 2 months after the Macintosh version of iTunes was released. It ushered in the “space era” of OS X wallpapers, which was used heavily in the new Time Machine interface as well. This means that if you're sending Amplitude events via the HTTP API or through another pipeline, you must send a session_id with the event. You should also keep in mind that all paths in Pathfinder are tracked in individual sessions. You'll also want to read up on session IDs and how Amplitude tracks sessions, where you'll also find instructions on setting custom session properties. You should also familiarize yourself with our helpful list of Amplitude definitions. Before you beginīe sure to read our article on building charts in Amplitude, as this is where you'll learn the basics of Amplitude's user interface. We recommend using Pathfinder to see the top common paths users can take to conversion, then use this information to build out your funnel chart. You can view both outgoing and incoming paths to a specified event, and Pathfinder will show you paths of up to fifty steps in depth. Path Finder is an user friendly application that provides access to a wide range of efficient tools when it comes to file management. However, the fact that you can batch rename files without having to use a third party utility is probably one of the most useful features. Path Finder comes with many efficient functions, like the the possibility to copy / view files using a dual pane browser, the option to create a file transfer queue, to perform simple Hex editing tasks, or to sort files by applying different criteria. These will give you access to the more complex Path Finder functions, such as the possibility to change the attributes / tags / ratings of a file, launch / terminate processes, access the Terminal console within the app, view the recently used documents and folders and much more. Integrated Terminal console and batch renaming capabilities You can choose to activate additional panels that will be placed on the right and left side, or on the bottom area of the main window. This area includes shortcuts to most of the Path Finder primary features, but keep in mind that Path Finder also allows you to use hotkeys. The Path Finder interface retains the same modular design used by the Apple Finder app, but comes with 6 customizable views: you can switch between them by pressing the buttons placed in the app’s top toolbar. The same familiar interface, more customization options Noteworthy is that Path Finder allows you to group multiple files into a stack temporarily and then move them through a single step, comes with a dual pane view, and includes support for multiple tabs. Path Finder is a Mac app that preserves the same familiar design, while being able to mold on your own working style. The Finder application can prove to be sufficient for basic file management tasks but does not provide too many customization options. In addition to Hendrix, Aretha Franklin, the Four Seasons, Barry Manilow, the Tokens, the Manhattans, Dion and the Belmonts, Jeff Beck, Noel Redding (solo) and many others made recordings with this equipment. "The console with producer’s station was custom designed and built by Lenny Stea and Gordon Clark for Sound Center Studios as one of the first eight-track consoles in New York City. “My Friend” appeared on First Rays of the New Rising Sun, and “Somewhere” was included in The Jimi Hendrix Experience box set. None of the recordings were released during Hendrix’s lifetime, but two songs from these sessions have been issued posthumously. The sessions were the first in which Hendrix produced himself. "Jimi Hendrix used this recording/mixing console in the late 1960s at Sound Center Studios in New York City. The Sound Center Studios board on which the Sunrise album was recorded now resides in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland, OH. The inscription on display reads:Ĭollection of Frank K. He was my friend until his death in 2008. Vincent Gagliano stayed in touch with me through the years. In return, I recorded and Vin produced my “Sunrise” album, all free of charge. I wrote the arrangements, performed and conducted the orchestra (strings, horns, rhythm). I also wrote about five demos for Charlie Brown and Yvonne, Vin’s singing duet clients. Prometheus fit that bill and I successfully finished arranging, contracting and performing on that album. Vin Gagliano was in need of an arranger who could write charts for his singer clients. I also wanted to record my poetry album called “Sunrise.” The name Prometheus, it seemed to me, was fitting for a jazz fusion group. What was his sin? Prometheus gave humanity the gifts of fire and the arts. I formed a group called Prometheus, the Greek god who was strapped to a rock, where an eagle visited him every day and ate his organs. He helped me set up my publishing company. He gave me great advise and emotional and financial support. Vin understood all of this, found me a steady gig with a Korean band at the old Hawaii Kai tourist restaurant on Broadway. I was not only transitioning from being a road musician who played nearly every night to being a stay at home musician and arranger with no money or gigs–and poetry was spewing out of me–a very new and bewildering experience. He took me under his wing, but our relationship grew in other ways, too. Vin was a bit older than me, and he had vast experience in recording and producing. Hamp was going to campaign for Nixon’s reelection primary bid–and I couldn’t, wouldn’t. I first met Vin Gagliano at Sound Center Studios in NYC in February, 1972, just as I was contemplating leaving Lionel Hampton’s group. All of the pieces on this album showed my state of mind when I left Lionel Hampton, strived to reestablish a stronger relationship with Lorry and my children and embarked on new musical directions on my own. While "Sunrise" is long and reflective, "Homemade Wine" and the other Side B compositions project a totally different mood, highly agitated and disconcerting in places. Percussion, Harpsichord, Flute, Celeste, Narration The album should be listened to as a total experience…just turn off the lights, pour a drink, lay back, put on earphones if you have them…and enjoy a unique poetic theater piece…on a RECORDING!!!Īlto and Soprano Sax, Piano, Fender Rhodes Piano, SUNRISE is the entire first side of this album.
